INNOVATIVE ASSISTANCE FOR NONPROFIT GROUPS

United Desert Charities is a nonprofit organization that helps the local charitable community in such vital areas as:

Fundraising
Special events facilitation
Volunteer assistance
Collaboration/Networking
Management & Grantseeking
Workshops/Trainings/Meetings

UDC is also a philanthropic organization, using money raised through special events and fundraisers to make contributions to various local nonprofit agencies.

Since 1998, UDC has provided over $375,000 in donations/grants and over $600,000 in services to Antelope Valley organizations, resulting in a net impact to the community of over $1 million.

AGENCIES SUPPORTED

UDC strongly believes in the positive benefits of collaboration, and has demonstrated that organizations can maximize the effectiveness of fundraising and community outreach by working together toward common goals. Among the 87 local nonprofit groups UDC is helping or has formed collaborative partnerships with are:

Charitable groups
Churches and Religious groups
Social service agencies
School clubs & Educational groups\
Recreational clubs

SELF-SUFFICIENT FUNDING

Since UDC was founded, it has been extremely self-sufficient in its funding, obtaining 100% of its operating expenses through its own fundraising activities, including: dinners, dances, auctions, crafts shows, and other special events.

In the near future, UDC will be seeking funding through grants, In order to start new programs, including a nonprofit resource center, research library, and volunteer center, helping organizations to maximize their management potential.

STAFF OF VOLUNTEERS

UDC is staffed primarily by a group of highly- dedicated volunteers, motivated by their belief in the unlimited potential of the organization. Together, with an all-volunteer Board of Directors and a volunteer Advisory board made up of prominent members of the local community, UDC has the vision and direction necessary to continue to anticipate and meet the need of the local charitable organizations.

FOCAL POINT FOR NONPROFIT ACTIVITIES

United Desert Charities has rapidly become a major focal point for the Antelope Valley’s charitable community, facilitating outreach, special events, fundraisers, workshops and many other nonprofit activities. Future goals include a nonprofit resource center, computer grant seeking center, research library and volunteer matching service, helping to ensure the success and effectiveness of those groups in our area who do so much to help others.
